Dr. Marissa Mikolich

Originally from Poland, Ohio, Dr. Mikolich possesses more than a decade of experience in the field of dentistry. As a trusted orthodontist near Boardman, she enjoys the transformation process that is involved in straightening teeth and producing flawless smiles in children, teens, and adults.

As a teenager, Dr. Mikolich experienced what it was like to receive orthodontic treatment. Witnessing her smile move into alignment allowed her to feel more confident after treatment was completed. This spurred her interest in orthodontics because of its ability to make a difference in patients’ lives.

In pursuit of her desired career, she enrolled at Villanova University and earned her undergraduate degree before completing her doctoral degree at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. From there, she received her master’s degree in oral biology at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry so that she could provide advanced orthodontic treatment.

Outside of the office, Dr. Mikolich enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their two beautiful children, Michael and Ava. You’ll also find her baking, skiing, fishing, traveling, cheering for the Buckeyes, and relaxing with her loved ones.

FAQs

How do I find the best place to straighten my smile?

Addressing dental misalignments or malocclusions can be an incredibly personal matter, and it’s only natural to want to find a provider you feel confident and comfortable with. If you’re on the market for a new orthodontist and are unsure how to choose from the many available options, it might help to take some time to identify a few key priorities.

For example, do you need to find someone who works with people of all ages or who accepts your dental insurance? Do you have a specific service you anticipate wanting or needing, like Invisalign instead of standard orthodontics? Answering these kinds of questions for yourself can help you find a provider who checks off all the boxes.

How much do traditional braces cost near Boardman, OH?

Traditional braces are the tried-and-true method of repositioning misaligned teeth because they’re a versatile way to address everything from mild to more severe cases. However, you might avoid scheduling a consultation if you’re worried you can’t afford them.

The total cost can vary based on your unique circumstances, but most people near Boardman can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $7,000+. The amount might be more or less based on certain factors, such as the severity of your condition, whether you’re insured, and the anticipated length of your treatment timeline.

What level of education is required to become an orthodontist?

Are you wondering what makes Dr. Mikolich qualified to help straighten your or your loved one’s smile? Rest assured, all orthodontists must meet specific criteria to be licensed to work with patients, and she is no exception!

First, providers must earn an appropriate bachelor’s degree before earning either a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) advanced degree from one of the more than 70 dental schools accredited by the ADA (American Dental Association). Once that’s complete, they can choose to focus on one of the specialty topics recognized by the ADA, such as orthodontics.

At our office near Boardman, Dr. Mikolich earned her dental doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and subsequently earned her Master of Science degree in oral biology at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.

What do I do if I can’t afford orthodontic treatment?

Are you concerned that you can’t afford the service(s) required to straighten your smile? Dr. Mikolich and the rest of our dedicated team near Boardman believe that everyone deserves access to quality services that can improve their dental alignment, regardless of their financial situation.

As a result, we happily accept several major dental insurance providers and are considered in-network with BlueCross/BlueShield, Delta Dental, Dentemax, Guardian, Medical Mutual, and MetLife. We also will gladly work with out-of-network plans to help you maximize your available benefits.

However, we also understand that not everyone is insured, which is why we’ve partnered with CareCredit to offer flexible payment plans. If your application is approved, you can divide your total invoice into more manageable installments over a designated period to help make the necessary services more affordable.
